This beautiful Green and Natural Maori Flax Kete Backpack is hand woven in the traditional Maori fashion.
The art of Maori kete weaving has been passed down through the generations. Nowadays modern dyes are used to add colour and contrast, making the pikau look even better.
Hand made and Maori made in Northland, New Zealand, this kete backpack is made from naturally dried flax, contrasting with dyed Green strips. The pikau is finished off with a New Zealand Paua (Abalone) shell clasp.
These kete backpacks are lightweight and very comfortable to wear. They are also durable - I've had my kete backpack for many years. Made by an expert weaver.
Perfect to wear to markets and grocery stores - ideal to replace single use plastic bags.
